About 11:44 it describes an advanced soldering iron cleaning station, which features layered rotating sponge that automatically gets wet in a basin of water below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZSveVpgmIM&t=704 We made our own version. ===== BOM ===== * 1× print: https://www.printables.com/model/1185408-best-soldering-iron-cleaner-vertical-segmented-rot; make sure it's watertight * 1× aluminium pipe for the axle, ⌀12 mm × 71 mm ± 0.4 mm * (you can change the diameter to whatever you have on hand, but then you need to change the journal on which it rests in the print) * 4× sponge ⌀70 mm × 16 mm, internal ⌀12 mm (or whatever axle you got) * cellulose, sulphur-free * you can buy rectangular, 120 mm × 75 mm and cut on the [[infra:tools:lasercutter|laser cutter]]; the offcuts you can use for tumble dryer Ping [[user>woju]] on matrix if you'd like one set, I've got 2 cartons of the sponges and several spare aluminium pipes. ===== Varia ===== Consider using a cup that comes with clothes iron to fill the basin with water (see the picture). ===== Gallery ===== v0: {{:projects:img_20250208_184225_624.jpg?direct&400|}} {{:projects:img_20250208_184244_282.jpg?direct&400|}}
