TinyPC
Bought from Tiny Computers Ltd. in 1993 *without a Windows operating system* and so with *no license for Windows*, this computer has been running Linux ever since then, in Poland since approximately 1995.
You can boot the PC and if you guess password you should be able to log into root and hack on the configuration.
Projects:
* A soundblaster card is available in the archive that probably was installed in this computer at one point. It would be interesting to get it playing music again. * The computer can probably not run the very first releases of linux due to the hard disk type, but it probably *can* run linux 1.0. Getting that or the earliest version installed and running would be good * It would be nice to get this available on a network whilst making sure it can't be infected or damaged. * There's a modem installed in the computer. Dial up networking would be neat * The computer is connected to a 10Base2 network and a hub (bridging to and from 10BaseT) - connect that to an outside network?
